Levels of Play

Alaska Rush is built for every player — whether they're stepping on a soccer field for the first time or chasing a college scholarship. Every level of our program is designed with clear development goals, intentional coaching, and a pathway to the next step.

Recreational

Ages 2–12 | All Skill Levels Welcome

Recreational soccer is where the journey begins. Our recreational program is the perfect introduction to the game — low pressure, high fun, and focused entirely on helping young players fall in love with soccer. Every session combines age-appropriate skill-building with small-sided games led by our licensed coaching staff.

Age Groups:

• 2–3 year olds

• 4–5 year olds

• 6–7 year olds

• 8–9 year olds

• 10–12 year olds

Locations:

• West Anchorage — Lloyd Steele Fields | Tuesdays & Thursdays

• South Anchorage — Lloyd Steele Fields | Tuesdays & Thursdays

• Mat-Su Valley — BASECAMP Program

All skill levels welcome. No experience required.

 

Pre-Comp Academy

Birth Years 2018–2020 | Introduction to Structured Training

Pre-Comp Academy is the bridge between recreational play and the competitive track. Designed for younger players who are ready for more structure without the full commitment of competitive soccer, the Academy focuses on technical fundamentals, confidence, and a genuine love for the game.

This is the ideal next step for recreational players who are showing curiosity and readiness for something more.

 

Pre-Competitive

Birth Years 2016–2018 | Skill Development Meets Competition

Pre-Comp is where players begin training with purpose. Sessions are more focused, the coaching is more structured, and players begin competing in local leagues and tournaments for the first time. The emphasis is still on development — but now with the added energy of real competition.

Boys: Monday/Wednesday | Chilly Pepper Field | 4:00–5:15 PM Girls: Tuesday/Thursday | Lloyd Steele Soccer Complex | 4:00–5:15 PM

Players in Pre-Comp are building the technical and mental foundation they'll carry into the full competitive program.

 

Competitive Club

Various Birth Years | League Play, Tournaments & Out-of-State Competition

Our competitive club program is for players who are ready to train seriously and compete at a high level. Teams practice 2–3 times per week, compete in local leagues, participate in statewide tournaments, and travel out of state for select events.

Competitive players are evaluated through tryouts and placed on teams that match their ability and development stage. Players in this program have access to:

• Curriculum-based training led by USSF-licensed coaches

• League play through the United Anchorage Youth Soccer League (UAYL)

• Statewide and regional tournament competition

• Pathway to the Alaska Airlines Cup and College ID programming

Premier Competitive — 11v11

Advanced Players | In-State & Out-of-State Competition

Our premier competitive program is for players competing at the highest club level. 11v11 teams compete both in and out of state in premier tournaments and leagues, with exposure to college coaches and national-level scouting through the Rush Select Program.

The Rush Select Program is a national program available to the highest caliber players across Rush Nation — giving Alaska athletes a platform to compete and be seen at a level most states take for granted.

UPSL — Pro Development

Ages 16+ | The Pinnacle of Club Soccer in Alaska

The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is the largest pro-development league in North America, and Alaska Rush has been part of it since 2018. The UPSL is designed for older competitive club players, returning college athletes, and high-level adults who want the most competitive environment Alaska club soccer has to offer.

This is the top of the Alaska Rush pathway — and a genuine stepping stone for players serious about continuing their soccer career beyond high school.
