The History of College ID at Rush Soccer

College Identification, or "College ID," has been part of Rush Soccer's DNA from the beginning. As the largest youth soccer club in the world with clubs in 35 states and 47 countries, Rush built its reputation not just on winning, but on opening doors. The College Advisory Program (CAP) grew out of a simple conviction: every Rush player deserves a real pathway to the next level, whether that next level is NCAA Division I, NAIA, junior college, or anything in between. Rush Soccer

Where It Started

Rush Soccer launched its College Advisory Program to solve a problem families know well. Recruiting is confusing, timelines are aggressive, and most clubs leave players to figure it out alone. CAP changed that by giving every Rush family a structured roadmap, expert mentorship, and direct access to college coaches across the country.

Where It Is Today

What started as a player-support resource has grown into the largest and most advanced college advisory program in youth soccer, supporting over 11,000 high school players across the country with personalized planning, expert advice, and real connections to college coaches. The results speak for themselves: in 2025 alone, over 1,000 Rush players committed to college programs. RushsoccerRush Soccer

How College ID Works Inside Rush

For older players, the pathway is built around Regional ID Camps. At the U16+ level, players attend Regional ID Camps that put them in front of Rush Select staff and college coaches. Top performers are invited to join Rush Select National Teams and attend two College Showcase Events. Players in U9 through U15 follow a separate development pathway through Select Centers, where Rush staff identify top talent using consistent national standards across all four regions. RushsoccerRushsoccer

The capstone event is the Mayor's Cup, played on world-class soccer complexes with hundreds of college coaches in attendance, combining top-level competition and international exposure. Rushsoccer

What This Means for Alaska Rush Families

When your player joins Alaska Rush, they're not just joining a local club. They're plugging into a global network and a college pipeline that has placed thousands of players at every level of the college game. From the first ID camp to signing day, Rush walks with your family every step of the way.
